Monday Morning Moment of Reflection

As I was thinking about my blog and particularly about the types of regular posts that I'd like to share with my readers each week, I was really drawn to share something each Monday that inspires me.

I truly believe that we are called to be good stewards of all of the blessings in our lives. Financially speaking, I feel that if I can save money for our family by couponing and shopping for the best prices available then I have made a step in that direction.

Financial stewardship, however, is not the only area in which we are expected to use our best efforts to further God's plan. Our families are God's greatest blessings..... Here is an excerpt from an article that I keep posted on my refrigerator. It was clipped several months ago from a magazine and was written by Louis Walfrid Johnson:

A Parents Prayers

Prayer offers an amazing opportunity for us to see God work in the lives of our children. Here are a few prayers I've found essential over the years:

*Remind me often, Lord, that my greatest gift to my children is to help them know You.

*Help me to make time for good talks with my children. Allow me to recognize and respond to teachable moments - those earth stands still moments when my child asks something he really wants to know.

*Give my children enough success to be certain of Your love for them, enough favor to be aware of Your kindness, but enough humility to know that they can do nothing worthwhile without You.

*Show them Your holiness, and give them the power to live in a way that honors You.
